About Me
About Me
I am a resident of Orleans, Ontario. I grew up in Laval, Quebec, and spent five years in Bristol, England before returning to Canada.
I fell in love with art when I was a child, watching my father paint for leisure. Since that time I have embraced art in various forms. However, my passion has always been painting in oils. Work and raising a family forced painting to take a back seat and, although I didn't paint for many years, I never gave it up completely.
In 1999 I took up painting again, and in recent years I discovered the joy of working with water-miscible oil paints. I now use them exclusively, as they are less damaging to the environment. This is particularly important to me as I enjoy painting on location where a spill of harsh solvent would be harmful.

My Work
My Work
My art is expressed in two distinct styles: a loose, painterly style that I use to quickly capture landscapes when painting on location, and a more controlled, detailed style that I use when working in my studio. Both styles are true to me and how I envision the world around me.
As well as traditional landscapes, I enjoy exploring mythology and fantasy landscapes, where I decide what the laws of nature and its colours should be, and where I can push the boundaries of reality.
Although landscapes are my preferred subject, I often feel driven to capture other images, resulting in a wide range of subjects. Variety, after all, is the spice of life!
My work includes commissions and artworks for private collections and for the Government of Canada
I have studied with other artists as well as through courses offered at the Visual Arts Centre of Orleans (VACO), Bridgwater Retreat, and Loyalist College. I am also proud to have studied with Tim Packer (Koyman Galleries), Kerry Vaughn Erikson, Deborah Czernecky, and Lucy Manly.
